Sunrise over Gala Hill!

Up with the lark to catch the sunrise on this early morning walk. Leaving Gala we will head to the Braes o Gala Hill to watch the sunrise. We will then head to Touting Birks Hill before returning via Gala Hill and Gala Policies to Galashiels.

Start time - 0515, Distance - 5.5 miles, approx time - 3 1/4 hours, ascent 255 metres, grading - MODERATE

Grey Mares Tail, White Coomb and Loch Skeen

In conjunction with Moffat Walking Festival we will take you on a walk that is, without doubt, one of the finest walks in the Scottish Borders. As our walk starts to climb we take in views of the iconic Grey Mares Tail. After fording the Tail Burn its on to White Coomb and then Lochcraig Head. We descend via Loch Skeen and the Grey Mares Tail.

THIS IS A STRENUOS WALK WITH STEEP CLIMBS, RIVER CROSSING(NO BRIDGE), BOGGY UNDERFOOT AND REMOTE OPEN AREAS. YOU SHOULD BE FULLY EQUIPED WITH SUITABLE WALKING GEAR/FOOD/WATER/HOT DRINK AND HAVE A GOOD LEVEL OF FITNESS.

Stow to Galashiels with Stow Community Trust

Our friends at Stow Community Trust are on board with this year's festival and are helping us lead this meaty walk that will leave Stow and head to the Iron Age Broch known as Bow Castle Broch. From here we will head over William Law and then pass the 16th Century Buckholm Tower before making our way down to Galashiels.

THIS IS A STRENUOS WALK WITH STEEP CLIMBS, BOGGY UNDERFOOT AND REMOTE OPEN AREAS. YOU SHOULD BE FULLY EQUIPED WITH SUITABLE WALKING GEAR/FOOD/WATER/HOT DRINK AND HAVE A GOOD LEVEL OF FITNESS.

Two Towers Walk (Buckholm and Torwoodlee)

This decent size walk will take us to the slopes of Buckholm Hill. After a visit to the haunted 16th century Buckholm Tower we will then make our way to the 17th century Torwoodlee Tower. Along the walk we will learn tales of ancient Border rivalry.
